Supplemental Learning

Started in 2021 in Cape Coast as Adisadel Learning Clinic, the accelerated learning support focused on providing learning opportunities to all children. Using the concept of teaching at the right level and Jolly Phonics and The Reading Factory’s customized curriculum, children are placed based on their ability rather than their age or grade level.

The goal is to provide learning support to children with learning challenges and build their confidence in academics and social life. The Reading Factory is presently conducting learning clinics in the Central and Volta Regions, positively improving the academies of more than 700 children and simultaneously contributing to the professional development of over 30 teachers.

Teacher Professional Development

The team of specialists at The Reading Factory provides a continuum of teacher training in Jolly Phonics, active learning pedagogies, differentiated learning, and the creation of low-cost materials in teaching.

Since 2021 The Reading Factory has collaborated with Cape Coast, Keta, and Anloga Education Directorate and ten private schools in central, Greater Accra, and Northern Regions in providing tailored training for over 150 teachers.

Education 360

‘Inclusive, good-quality education is a foundation for dynamic and equitable societies’ (Desmond Tutu). Focused on creating equitable societies through quality, inclusive, and accessible education for all, the organization provides diverse learning opportunities, including both classroom and outdoor teaching experiences.

The organization hosts an annual Inclusive Literacy and Arts festival on International Literacy Day. The inaugural event took place in Cape Coast in 2023, with the participation of 25 schools, including inclusive schools. The festival featured the engagement of over 85 schoolchildren who displayed their artwork and reading skills. Beyond the learning aspect, children enjoyed the event, had fun, and were acknowledged and rewarded for their efforts.
